Ukraine for one year of non-degree academic studies in the United States.
Applicants must currently be enrolled as a second-year student at a

community service work, and civil society-related programming. UEP combines
the U.S. liberal arts academic experience with exposure to American social
issues and civic development through involvement in community
service-related work. The program aims to create lasting ties among
participants and their American colleagues, thereby contributing to cultural
understanding and tolerance.

Participants attend a university or college in the United States for one
year. While in the United States, grantees agree to complete 25 hours per
semester of community service work in an area of interest to them. At the

NKS Summer School 2009
The NKS Summer School is a unique opportunity to get involved with
original research at the frontiers of science. At each Summer School
session, about 40 students from a diverse range of scientific
backgrounds learn about NKS and how to apply it to their fields of
interest.

The three-week-long program consists of lectures and individual
research projects relating to core NKS issues. The NKS Summer School
is primarily targeted at advanced undergraduates and early graduate
students, although those in different circumstances are considered. We
are looking for students who want to move their careers in the NKS
direction. Who is the Summer School for? It's intended for anyone who
wants to be able to do NKS research projects. We expect students to be
ready to do an independent research project, but they can be at
various stages in their formal education. We typically have graduate
students, undergraduates, postdocs, and a few professors, teachers,
and professionals.

All are expected to have read NKS in some level of detail.
Additionally, because all projects will be done using Mathematica,
learning its basics before the start of the program is highly
recommended.
